Work on Precision Coils’ Brownsville, Tenn. facility is expected to begin this spring. Officials are hoping to have this building fully revamped and operational by July.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty, and Haywood County officials recently met with Precision Coils representatives to announce that Precision Coils is expanding and relocating its existing Somerville, Tenn. facility to Brownsville, Tenn.

The expansion represents a $3.7 million investment and will spur the creation of 26 new jobs.

“I appreciate Precision Coils’ decision to expand and grow in our state,” said Haslam. “We will continue to work toward our goal of making Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high-quality jobs.”

Precision Coils, a business of Unison™ Comfort Technologies, specializes in manufacturing competitively priced, precision-engineered replacement and OEM coils. An increased demand for Precision Coils’ product line has necessitated the move to a larger facility. The company has secured a lease on an existing 60,000-square-foot facility in the Brownsville Industrial Park and has immediate plans to add an additional 20,000 square feet to the facility.

“Under Governor Haslam’s leadership, my department is continually working to foster a business friendly environment that gives companies the confidence to invest and expand in our state,” Hagerty said. “I congratulate Precision Coils on its expansion and thank them for the additional jobs they will create for Tennesseans.”

The addition is slated for completion this spring. The company plans to begin moving this summer and hopes to be completely relocated in July.

“The move to the Brownsville Industrial Park enables us to meet growth expectations in a high-quality manufacturing environment for the foreseeable future,” said Jay Althof, Unison Comfort Technologies president.

“We value the work ethic of our employees,” said David Pflum, Precision Coils general manager. “One of our objectives was selecting a location in a geographic area that would allow us to retain as many employees as possible.”

The move has gained the support of local community leaders as well.

“The citizens of Haywood County are excited about the decision of Precision Coils to move its manufacturing operations to Haywood County,” said Franklin Smith, Haywood County mayor. “We believe the strong work ethic of our labor force, and the overall pro-business attitude of our local leadership, makes Precision Coils’ decision a very positive, win-win opportunity for both the company and the county.”
