Unico Partners With the National Trust

ST. LOUIS — Unico Inc. has renewed the company’s partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The National Trust is the leading preservation organization in the United States, working every day to save important places, spark economic development, revitalize communities, encourage sustainable development, and create American jobs, said Unico.

“Unico is very proud to renew our partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a relationship which dates back to 2002,” said Shawn Intagliata, president, Unico Inc. “It’s a natural fit, since the Unico System is designed to provide optimum heating and cooling to older or historic homes and buildings without marring the architectural integrity of these structures.”

Unico has provided its unique Unico System HVAC equipment for several historic places associated with the National Trust, including the restoration of President Lincoln’s Cottage in Washington, D.C., a property owned and operated by the organization. Other national landmarks that have been renovated with the Unico System include the Mark Twain House, Booker T. Washington House and the Harry S. Truman Little White House.

The Unico System is also the HVAC product of choice for Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation, which was created to build 150 affordable, sustainable homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward for residents impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

“Unico’s unique expertise means that historic homes and properties can enjoy both improved energy efficiency and sensitive restorations,” said Stephanie Meeks, president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “We thank Unico for its generous and continued support as a partner of the National Trust.”
