The GeoComfort® Compass® Series WT water-to-water heat pump model is available in sizes from 2 to 5 tons, and 8 through 12 tons. The 036 through 092 WT water-to-water models meet the stringent Energy Star Tier 3 requirements that take effect on Jan. 1, 2012. According to the manufacturer, with better componentry matches, as well as Copeland’s next generation of UltraTech® scroll compressors, most models within the WT Series saw a 15 to 25 percent heating capacity increase. They have the flexibility to provide forced-air heating, forced-air cooling with hydronic fan coils, and domestic hot water plus hot water for radiant floor heat. Two-stage operation allows for smaller buffer tanks, which lowers equipment footprint and installation costs. The compact size allows for multiple units to be installed in a smaller space, or rack-mounted, for larger tonnage applications.
