CINCINNATI — Thompson Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Drain Cleaning announced that it had donated $104,900 since 2009 to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) on Veterans Day. A breakfast and check presentation took place at Thompson’s headquarters and was part of a program honoring all veterans and military personnel. This was the third annual celebration that Thompson dedicated to veterans to say thank you for their dedication, courage, and sacrifices to protect our everyday freedoms.

Thompson received live media coverage from three of the largest television stations in the Cincinnati/northern Kentucky region, WCPO, WLWT, and FOX19. Thompson also received radio coverage from 700WLW and 55KRC along with mentions on their website and blogs. The Cincinnati Enquirer featured an article in its newspaper regarding Thompson’s donation to the DAV and the company’s community involvement.

Hundreds of local veterans and military personal were in attendance at the Thompson event, along with Miss Ohio 2011, Ellen Bryan, who was this year’s master of ceremonies.

Special guest, Lieutenant General Lawrence F. Snowden, made a speech during the presentation. Snowden’s distinguished military career covered three major wars, finishing his 37-year career as chief of staff for U.S. Marine Corp HQ.

Ohio state representative Connie Pillich was in attendance along with a field representative from Speaker of the House John Boehner’s office.
