This specific project is designed to demonstrate for the DOD how Dais and Aqualyte can conduct energy efficient dehumidification of outdoor air, thereby reducing the energy used by DOD buildings.
Dais estimates that this project will generate $960,000 in grant funds used to offset all materials, equipment, and labor expenses associated with the project, subject to budget and contract negotiations, and is anticipated to begin on or about March 1, 2012, and conclude in January 2014. Dais intends to use this project to highlight the energy saving properties of its products.
This is the second federal grant in as many years for Dais. The company received a $680,000, one-year grant award in September 2010 from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Advanced Research Project Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), to advance the commercialization of its energy-efficient, water-based dehumidification technology.
