TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. received the 2011 Governor’s Business Diversification Award in the Green-to-Gold Major Market category at a reception at the Governor’s Mansion.

The award, given by Enterprise Florida in conjunction with Florida’s Annual Industry Appreciation Week, recognizes organizations in Florida that best exemplify green leadership and investments in economic development.

In making their selections, Enterprise Florida considered each organization’s commitment to investing in the community and efforts to improve and diversify Florida’s economy.

Danfoss Turbocor was chosen due to significant high wage job growth, considerable contributions to the local economy, and commitment to energy savings and sustainability.

Contributing factors in Danfoss Turbocor’s selection included:

• Addition of 50 new staff positions in the past year;

• Annual average growth of 20 percent; and

• $14 million in purchases through local and regional suppliers.
