CIPHEX Roadshow Highlights New Lead Rules

REGINA, Saskatchewan — The CIPHEX Roadshow, a plumbing, heating, hydronics (hot water) and water treatment expo taking place at the Delta Regina on Oct. 20, will feature a special informational session on the new and coming standards for lead in plumbing products.

Jeremy Brown, codes and regulatory manager at NSF International, will lead this session and answer questions about lead requirements in plumbing products, including:

• How will NSF 372 affect the Canadian marketplace?

• What impact will it have on the products you currently specify or sell?

• What information do you need to prepare yourself, to change your regular product specifications, or to comply?

According to NSF International, 2011 marks a watershed year for lead in plumbing products, namely the “go live” dates for the changes in NSF 61 in July 2012, the development of the NSF 372 standard, the passing of the U.S. Lead Reduction Act, and important developments in the CSA B125 standard.

The seminar by Brown, titled “Lead - Updates for Canada,” will take place at 3 p.m. at the Delta Regina. Admission is free to anyone registered for the CIPHEX Roadshow. Visit www.ciphexroadshow.com for free online registration.
