Oct. 5, 2011: Home Energy Auditing Course Is Aimed at Women

LAVINA, Mont. — From Oct. 10 to 14, 2011, Pure Energy Coach LLC will hold a home energy auditing course for women.

The Women’s Energy Auditing course will be held at The Pure Energy Center near Lavina, Mont., and is offered by energy auditor and coach A. Tamasin Sterner, an experienced trainer whose company has audited more than 40,000 homes over 30 years. When asked why the course is limited to women, Tamasin explained, “This is a great field for women. And there are far too few women in the industry. I want that to change.” And she noted that the campus has several different types of houses that are used for teaching the inspection skills.

The course is expected to attract women who want to be residential auditors, those who want or need to become certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI), builders and home improvement contractors, home inspectors, code officials, and HVAC contractors.

The course costs $850 per person, with an additional nominal charge for lodging and food.
