The prepackaged LOFlo™ injection mixing system enhances the energy efficiency of chilled beam systems. When compared to traditional HVAC systems, radiant cooling and chilled beams reduce fan electrical energy demand and consumption up to 10 times, the company claims. According to the manufacturer, the injection mixing system solves the challenge of the pump energy demand doubling. LOFlo mixing block consists of a variable-speed injection circulator and constant-speed zone circulator. The company says the system reduces the electrical energy demand of an all-air system by up to 40 percent and accomplishes chilled beam Btu transport with only one-third of the energy needed by chilled beam systems without injection mixing.
