ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) announced that three firms, J.C. Cannistraro LLC, Watertown, Mass.; Goyette Mechanical Co. Inc., Flint, Mich.; and Jackson & Blanc Inc., San Diego, have been qualified as MSCA GreenStars during the first quarter of 2011. A total of 39 member contractors nationwide have earned this distinction since the program’s inception in 2008.

MSCA GreenStar was created by MSCA to recognize mechanical service contractors that have developed the skills and expertise necessary to deliver energy-efficient, cost-effective indoor environmental solutions to their customers. MSCA has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its leadership and stewardship of sustainability practices in the HVACR industry.

“These firms have distinguished themselves as the standard bearers of energy and environmental conservation in our industry,” said Barbara Dolim, MSCA executive director. “I congratulate them on their accomplishments and encourage other mechanical service contractors to join this elite group of forward-thinking companies.”

To be qualified as an MSCA GreenStar, a contractor must first qualify as an MSCA STAR® contractor.

GreenStar applications are reviewed and approved by a third-party independent company.
