Anthony, a manufacturer of glass refrigerator and freezer doors as well as display cases, has announced that it has completed a licensing agreement with Glacier, a maker of beverage doors and package doors for commercial refrigeration systems.

Anthony is a portfolio company of Aurora Capital Group and Glacier is a business unit of Universal Industries.

Jeffrey Clark, president and chief executive officer of Anthony, said, “This strategic licensing agreement accelerates our global commitment to continue as the world’s leader in refrigeration specialty glass for the South African, African, and Indian markets. We have maintained an excellent relationship with Universal’s management for more than 25 years, and this licensing agreement will only propel our relationship further. With our North American retailers’ globalization, this makes available Anthony’s high quality products worldwide.”

The licensing agreement provides for Glacier to manufacture Anthony’s energy-efficient door line, LED lighting systems, anti-fog doors and specialty glass for Africa and India. The arrangement allows Glacier to have a complete offering in the commercial refrigeration specialty glass market, Clark said.

He said Anthony is a leader in the U.S. commercial refrigeration industry, while Glacier is South Africa’s leader in normal temperature beverage doors, and package doors for the commercial refrigeration industry. Glacier and Anthony will strengthen Universal’s efforts to penetrate South African, African, and Indian refrigeration markets, Clark said.
