Carrier Corp. Sells Dettson

FARMINGTON, Conn. - Carrier Corp. sold its Dettson residential heating operations in Canada to the Ouellet Group, a manufacturer of electric heating systems based in Quebec.

Quebec, Canada-based Dettson is primarily a residential oil heating products manufacturer with 125 employees and revenues of approximately $20 million in 2009. It has its headquarters and a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

“Dettson has a solid reputation for developing high quality residential oil heating products and will continue to provide products for our customers,” said Geraud Darnis, president, Carrier Corp. “We’re pleased that this combination with Ouellet, an electric heating products manufacturer, will enhance its growth potential.”
