SECAUCUS, N.J. – The PUNCHouse Project 234, owned by television journalist Lisa Ling and her husband, Dr. Paul Song, is the first energy-neutral home built in Santa Monica, Calif. Panasonic was selected as a partner for the project and provided nine energy-efficient ventilation fans to enhance the health and sustainability of the couple’s new home.

The 3,800-square-foot PUNCHouse Project 234 is striving for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes Platinum Certification using a tight net-zero energy building system and natural resources to significantly increase the energy efficiency of the home.

The inclusion of the nine Energy Star®-certified Panasonic ventilation fans will help remove biological pollutants in addition to harmful VOCs emitted from items such as building materials, carpets, furniture, paint, and hairspray.

According to Panasonic, the WhisperGreen® and WhisperComfort™ models installed in the home are also ideal for complying with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE) Standard 62.2, the ventilation platform adopted by LEED for Homes and other green building programs.
