ATLANTA - Kevin McNamara has been named vice president of Commercial Air Conditioning for LG Electronics USA. McNamara, who brings more than two decades of experience to his new role at LG, will be responsible for managing and leading LG’s commercial, residential, and applied air conditioning business in the United States.

McNamara reports to James Lee, senior vice president, who leads LG Electronics USA’s Air-Conditioning & Energy Solutions business unit. The company also announced that Darren Gibula, a 10-year air conditioning industry veteran, has been appointed operations director for Commercial Air Conditioning, reporting to McNamara. Gibula and McNamara will be based in the company’s U.S. air conditioning headquarters in Alpharetta, Ga.

“Kevin’s broad experience in the commercial air conditioning industry will take our leadership to the next level as we continue to invest aggressively in the U.S. marketplace,” said Wayne Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics USA. “His vision and focus on customers and the marketplace will help to strengthen our position as a market leader.”

McNamara joined LG Electronics from Carrier Corp., where he was most recently region general manager, based in Dallas. During his four-year tenure there, McNamara helped develop go-to-market strategies to increase the company’s Commercial Applied market share, overall business margins, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction. Previously, he also spent six years in various sales and management roles for Trane, and held key sales and service positions with York and Honeywell.

“LG already has an impressive reputation in the U.S. HVAC industry and a great vision for manufacturing innovative products,” said McNamara. “As a result, my focus is to build on the momentum from the past few years to help the business achieve its full potential and further increase the recognition of the powerful LG brand across the entire HVAC industry.”

Gibula, whose responsibilities will include overseeing daily operational performance of customer service, order management, technical support, inventory, training, facilities management, and business process improvement efforts, joins LG Electronics USA from Carrier Corp., where he held key operations, logistics, distribution, and supply chain positions since 2000. His previous experience includes quality management and consulting positions with Pratt & Whitney, Computer Sciences Corp., and Andersen Consulting.
