CUSTOMER:Balfour Beatty Construction LLC and Peabody Orlando Convention Center

OBJECTIVE:Overhaul the hot water system and plumbing to support the center’s expansion and renovation.

DESCRIPTION:The Peabody Orlando Convention Center on International Drive in Orlando, Fla., was in need of major expansion and renovation. As a subcontractor to Balfour Beatty Construction LLC, Randall Mechanical performed $7.5 million of work at the center. As part of its contract, Randall Mechanical installed a hot water system consisting of two 5 million Btu boilers, six recirculating zones with storage tank, and a mixing valve. The new system supplies the mammoth banquet hall and convention center kitchen, as well as the plumbing system. Randall Mechanical also installed several site catch basins and associated piping, as well as a complete storm system that supports the 450,000-square-foot facility.
