SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Carrier Corp. has announced that its certified Commercial Replacement Experts (CREs) can assist customers in realizing rooftop unit replacement energy savings opportunities through a detailed efficiency analysis. Carrier CREs specialize in running load calculations to properly size and select equipment and define a payback analysis that takes into consideration operational costs for the future in addition to the initial cost for repairing or replacing a system.

Utilizing Carrier-designed software tools, CREs provide customers with reports on equipment selection as well as operating and lifecycle costs, while also identifying rebates and leasing programs for Carrier 2- to 27.5-ton rooftop units. They are also able to install units that are factory and field stocked for fast delivery.

“As leaders in HVAC training and environmental stewardship, it is a natural fit for us to provide our contractors with the training and tools needed to assist customers in developing sustainable equipment strategies,” said Greg Alcorn, vice president, commercial sales and marketing, Carrier Residential and Commercial Systems. “With more than 1,000 contractors having completed or scheduled to attend CRE courses, feedback and demand for the program has surpassed our expectations. Customers recognize the benefits this expertise can bring to their business.”

Hank Gellert, CRE training instructor, Carrier Residential and Commercial Systems, added, “Another way Carrier supports replacement is that most of our rooftop units are specifically designed to fit on existing Carrier roof curbs dating back to the 1980s, eliminating the need for curb adapters or changing utility connections. This helps keep replacement costs to a minimum and eliminates any on-site surprises, which can be costly.”
