ROCKLEDGE, Fla. - Mainstream Engineering, a leading manufacturer of aftermarket service/maintenance and education/certification products, announced its new Trade School Division (TSD) to provide training/certification, aftermarket products, and educational support to HVACR trade schools in the United States.

The TSD offers Mainstream Engineering’s Qwik608 Pack, a 12-page self-study booklet, interactive CD-ROM, and proctored EPA Section-608 certification package specially for trade school curriculums. Service technician students purchase the Qwik608 Pack and a designated school instructor proctors the test. Graduates are awarded a certification card for refrigerant purchasing and also have access to 8 x 10 wall certificates, truck decals, and uniform patches.

The company said Qwik608 is a proven educational tool that has trained and certified nearly 200,000 independent service techs for EPA-608 since 1998.

The interactive CD also includes Mainstream Engineering’s five other certification/training programs: Indoor Air Quality, Preventative Maintenance Tech, R-410A, EPA-609 (automotive a/c), and Green HVACR.

Mainstream hired 20-year HVACR industry veteran Roy Goethe as sales manager of the new division. Goethe worked previously in contracting management and product sales/marketing and most recently served as sales engineer at the Stan Weaver Co., Orlando, Fla. As TSD sales manager, Goethe’s responsibilities will be recruiting vocational schools, exhibiting at trade shows, conducting QwikProducts demonstration/support, and providing product samples to the vocational school market.

“Our intent will be partnering with vocational/technical institutions and making it easier to produce highly-trained and competent technicians,” said Goethe. “Naturally, we also hope they continue considering our company when purchasing products.”
