Ice Air: Water-Source Heat Pumps
June 28, 2010
Vertical stack water-source heat pumps (VSWSHP) are ideal for new construction or retrofit applications in HVACR applications where high levels of energy efficiency and cooling and heating are required, says the company. The units are designed and manufactured to operate on standard 115- or 208/203-V, single-phase, 60-Hz circuits. Optional 265/277-V, 60-Hz or 220-V, 50-Hz units are available. The chassis of the heat pumps consists of a sealed refrigerant system, an evaporator section with PSC motor, and a coaxial heat exchanger condenser section, and either digital unit-mount or wall-mount controls. The sealed refrigerant system uses Puron® R-410A refrigerant exclusively. In addition, the VSWSHPs feature dual freeze protection and a permanent washable aluminum mesh filter. Models are ETL-listed for safety in the United States and Canada and meet required building codes and federal energy efficiency requirements.
