SILVER: Climate Wizard

Climate Wizard is an indirect evaporative air conditioner that uses a unique counterflow heat exchanger to deliver air that approaches the ambient dew point temperature, but adds no moisture as it cools. The product has been independently tested by the University of South Australia, showing that it achieves a coefficient of performance of more than 13 and itt can reduce energy use by up to 80 percent, depending on the application and conditions. One of Australia’s award-winning architects, John Maitland from Energy Architecture, said that he first questioned the name Climate Wizard. But, now that he’s specified the product in several projects, including his own home, he’s a strong advocate of the product and the technology. Interest in the product has been reinforced by several awards, including the GAIA Gold Award at the 2010 Big 5 Show in Dubai and the HVAC Product Excellence Award at the 2010 ARBS Expo in Australia, as well as the 2009 Green Plumbers Energy Efficient Product of the Year.
