Honeywell: Variable-Frequency Drives
May 10, 2010
The next generation of the manufacturer’s variable-frequency drives (VFDs) is the SmartVFD HVAC and Bypass. The units are designed to maximize energy savings in commercial buildings and to operate effectively as a key component of an efficient building. The SmartVFD HVAC has an easy-to-use keypad and graphic interface that delivers menu-driven programming and monitoring for fast, uniform commissioning. Its built-in communications with BACnet®, N2, and Modbus translates into a lower total installed cost and reliable communications with the building management system, says the company. The PC software wizards guide commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting. For system-critical applications, the SmartVFD Bypass is available in several configurations, including fused disconnect, and two and three contactors.
