CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Helping to install the home’s heating and cooling system, Lanz Heating & Cooling Inc. was featured in ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” home build for the Montgomery family of Philo, Ill. The family gave up a six-figure income to take over operation of the Champaign Salt & Light food pantry of Champaign, Ill.

“When our team first became involved in the project, we learned the episode was scheduled to air at the start of National Volunteer Week,” said Troy Lanz, company manager. “The Montgomery family’s work with the Salt & Light food pantry is a strong testament to the power of volunteer efforts, and our contribution was a small way to say thanks for all the ways they lend a hand to our community each day.”

Trane 4TEE variable-speed, two-stage air handlers were installed as a component of the home’s overall heating and cooling system. “When selecting the products for the home, we wanted to provide the family with equipment efficient enough to keep their heating and cooling costs as low as possible, and offered Trane’s air handling products as a solution toward that goal,” said Lanz. “The air handlers we selected feature a fan motor that will vary its speed based on the home’s heating and cooling needs at any given time, meaning the family can enjoy a comfortable home air environment without the worry of expensive energy costs.”
