DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - DuctSox Corp. won a Silver Gaia Award for innovative and sustainable products at the Big 5 International Building & Construction Show held at the Dubai World Trade Center in November. The Gaia construction and environmental competition reviews the world’s building product manufacturers under stringent judging criteria and chooses a select few winners among dozens of entries.

“DuctSox was a silver award finalist for the integrated nature of the extensive comprehensive and innovative fabric duct solutions they produce with high levels of recycled content in key product lines,” said David Baggs, chairman of Gaia judges and technical director/co-founder of Ecospecifier Global, Australia.

Most of the DuctSox line of HVAC air distribution products is capable of helping buildings earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), said the company. According to DuctSox, its newest product offering, 55-Percent Recycled Fabric, is the HVAC industry’s first duct fabric constructed of recycled materials for LEED certification.

“The Gaia award is an illustration of our continuing fabric duct innovation and commitment to green and sustainable products for all types of commercial buildings,” said Cary Pinkalla, president, DuctSox, which also exhibited at the Big 5 Expo.
