CHICAGO - Greg Powell, Enerlon’s managing director, attended an award ceremony at the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition in Chicago, and accepted LonMark International’s Best Multi-Vendor Project of the Year Award for 2008 in recognition of the design and installation of a multi-vendor building automation system from LonMark International.

“This award affirms our commitment to interoperability in the building controls world,” said Powell.

“We plan to deploy many more networks of everyday devices, enabling building owners to become green while enhancing levels of comfort, safety, and security.”

The building automation project at the Glendale Temple of the Self Realization Fellowship Church (SRF) was part of a major remodel at an existing 17-acre 1960s church property that had been acquired by the SRF church organization. The control system consists of HVAC, energy meters, and lighting devices from eight different manufacturers. Control information is shared among the devices using an open control protocol and LonMark interoperability standards. Also, a Web-browser based user interface provides maintenance personnel the ability to monitor and control the system from remote locations via the Internet.
