To commemorate The NEWS directory’s 75th anniversary, this section looks back at what was happening in the HVAC industry around 1934.

That was the year that the U.S. economy started to recover from the Great Depression. The refrigeration, heating and cooling industry, a part of which was residential refrigeration at that time, carried on despite the effects the Great Depression had on not only the industry, but the nation’s economy as a whole.
