Ierna’s Heating & Cooling’s $10,000 donation to the Lowry Park Zoo went to fund the African Penguin exhibit.

LUTZ, Fla. - Ierna’s Heating & Cooling made a generous donation to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo and its African Penguin exhibit for the second year in a row. The Bryant dealer contributed $10,000 to help fund the exhibit.

“I grew up going to the zoo, and I take my children there now, so we thought this was a great way to share our memories with our customers and neighbors,” said Charlene Lerna, co-owner of Ierna’s Heating & Cooling. “Our business has always been committed to the community and we were happy to lend a hand to the zoo.”

The “Penguin Beach” exhibit was designed to look like the colorful beachfront properties and cabanas around Cape Town, South Africa, and has traditional vegetation including flowering African plants and palm trees. A large banner featuring Ierna’s logo and the Bryant logo is displayed.

“We’ve had a phenomenal response from everyone who’s been to the exhibit, and it’s been great partnering with the zoo,” said Rob Kress, director of marketing and public relations at Ierna’s.

In addition to the Lowry Park Zoo donation, Ierna’s has contributed to its local Meals on Wheels program and the Land O’ Lakes Little League® team. The company was also named Central Pasco Chamber’s 2007 Business of the Year and is a Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems’ local Medal of Excellence winner.
