Bob Dwyer of Carbon Monoxide Safety Association (COSA) recently conducted a full-day carbon monoxide safety exam readiness seminar to around 30 members of the San Antonio, Texas, chapter of RSES.

The attendees went through discussions about the prevalence of carbon monoxide hazards as they relate to their business and to their personal lives as consumers in a culture dominated by combustion activities. Nearly one-half of the attendees took the HVAC Excellence Certified Carbon Monoxide Inspector Certification Exam at the end of the class.

The course began with a viewing of recent news articles relating tragic deaths from carbon monoxide that occurred.

Dwyer noted that, “Carbon monoxide death and poisoning happens almost every day somewhere. Even though it may not happen in ‘our town,’ carbon monoxide poisoning never takes a day off.”
