The MZ300 indoor reset control provides comfort control and end use efficiency for boiler and HVAC equipment temperature modulation. The temperature control technology analyzes thermostat activity, over time (5-90 minutes), to reset steam cycles or hot water boiler temperature output temperature limits. According to the manufacturer, the advantage the unit has over outdoor temperature reset control technology is even circulation and an improved method of heat loss evaluation to reset boiler temperatures. It is designed for boilers, heat pumps, geothermal, and other HVAC units. Enhancements to the unit include a jumper to select hot-water maintenance or cold start and an isolation relay to make the board work with a two- or four-wire thermostat system. The board uses available 150-mA 24-vac power from a zone control. The control can be set up without the need of a laptop computer. An RS232 port is available for tracking data over time using EXQterminal mode software.
