DESCRIPTION:The Mall at Partridge Creek
is an open-air shopping center featuring more than 85 stores. Located in
Michigan, where the winters are cold and snowy, Goyette Mechanical, Flint,
Mich., needed something that would keep the 128,360 square feet of shopping
paths warm and snow free. Using the Thaw-Pak® Hydronic Snow Melt system,
supplied by Performance Engineering Group, Livonia, Mich., Goyette installed
229,000 linear feet of 3/4-inch PEX tubing under brick pavers at 9 inch on
center.
Twelve Raypak Hi-Delta Boilers, concealed on building
rooftops, provide the hot water for the system. Total system capacity is 24,840
MBtuh. The boilers are all 87 percent efficient and have built-in cold start
protection. The system is controlled using two Tekmar 665 controllers that are
tied into the building management system.
“The heated paths and walkways lead you to a
shopping experience of fun, smiles, and dry feet.”
