Charles Austen Pumps Ltd.: Condensate Pump
June 2, 2008
The MiniBlue condensate pump, a part of the Blue Diamond family, has a temperature-sensing option along with the flexibility of being universal for inverter systems. Operation is handled by hot and cold thermistors mounted in the air inlet and outlet of room unit sensing when cooling occurs. The pump runs continuously when the air conditioning unit is on regardless of producing condensate. The condensate is drawn into the pump by vacuum, then mechanically driven within a reinforced elastomer diaphragm to the outlet under pressure. The system tolerates suspended solids and light slurries and can run dry. According to the manufacturer, the MiniBlue has no sensors, making it simple to install. The unit is self-priming and is whisper-quiet when running either wet or dry.
