ChannelFlux ZA-1 is a low-temperature braze alloy for aluminum. The patent-pending material is a combination of zinc-aluminum with a noncorrosive flux. Available in spooled wire, rod, and preform rings, the alloy simplifies the braze process by greatly expanding the available temperature range for brazing. According to the manufacturer, companies considering a change from copper to aluminum tubing in coil production will find using ZA-1 creates less scrap and fewer leaks when compared to 4047 braze materials. It is excellent for field repairs of aluminum coils, says the company.
