A new tube production system for chimney liners and similar HVAC applications is designed to eliminate batch production processes involved in manufacturing insulated chimney tubes. The Chimneymaster, an integrated roll-forming and tube welding system, allows sequential production of two different tube diameters every other cycle. According to the manufacturer, with this system it is now possible to feed blanks with different dimensions and roll-form them into either 5- or 7-inch tubes, alternately, via a CNC-controlled tube-forming machine that requires no change-parts for different diameters. The same principle also applies to the company’s integrated seam-welder. Using laser-beam welding as the principal welding source, the Chimneymaster rolls and welds mild and stainless steels, including AL29 4C, and all galvanized or coated steel materials.
