RACINE, Wis. - Modine Manufacturing Co. selected seven recipients of the 2007 Arthur B. Modine Scholars Program scholarships, funded by the Modine Manufacturing Co. Charity Foundation.

Available to children of full-time Modine employees at the corporate headquarters in Racine and at any of the manufacturing facilities or Modine subsidiaries in the United States, the scholarships are named after the engineer and inventor who founded Modine 91 years ago. They range from $1,000 to $2,500 per year for four years.

“We are pleased to help the children of our employees who have contributed so much to our success,” said David Rayburn, Modine’s president and CEO.

“The A.B. Modine Scholars Program is part of our commitment to building strong communities and encouraging bright young people to further their education and pursue challenging and rewarding careers.”

The 2007 A.B. Modine Scholars are: Matthew J. Bauer, son of Lynette Smoody, accounts payable manager in Racine; Emily N. Kaestner, daughter of Kurt Kaestner, manufacturing, engineering, and distribution systems manager in Racine; Mandy Long, daughter of Terrie D. Long, accounting assistant at Modine’s Harrodsburg, Ky., plant; Katlyn M. Potts, daughter of Dr. Carol Potts, medical director in Racine; Katherine B. Simson, daughter of John Simson, quality control/industrial engineer at Modine’s Harrodsburg plant; Nicholas P. Szczech, son of Jill Szczech, mechanical engineer in Racine; and Elizabeth G. Thayer, daughter of John Thayer, an engineer at Modine’s Lancaster, Pa., facility.
