Donating more than $3 million dollars, Carrier Corp. and its many volunteers raised the first wall on the second green home that it is building for Habitat for Humanity. (Click on the image for an enlarged view.)
The company has built more than 100 homes around the world, including those in the United States, the Philippines, and South Africa. They have contributed more than $3 million in both cash contributions and heating and air conditioning equipment, as well as thousands of employee volunteer hours.

The company recently raised the walls of a new four-bedroom home. This structure is Carrier’s second green home, designed to meet ecologically sound building standards through the use of recycled materials, renewable resources, and energy efficiency. An energy-saving Carrier Performance 90 gas-fired hot water boiler will be installed in the home, as well as nine other HAHfH homes.
“Carrier supports organizations, such as the Habitat for Humanity, that promote the use of green building practices and environmental sustainability in urban centers,” said Darnis. “We are continually working on developing cleaner and more efficient solutions, both for Carrier and our customers.”
