Klo-Shure Co.: Insulation Coupling
June 25, 2007
The one-piece insulation coupling system is designed to install in seconds, eliminating clamps and reducing the need for duct tape, glue, and most tools. According to the manufacturer, the insulation coupling significantly reduces the time required to secure copper tubing used for refrigerant lines, hot- and cold-water plumbing, and chilled-water systems. It allows sections of closed-cell elastomeric and fiberglass insulation to be secured at suspension points and eliminates having to double wrap, glue, and/or tape insulation at strut-mounted clamps and clevis hangers. It provides a superior vapor barrier and improved finish with no bulging of, or gaps in, the insulation, the company says. The insulation coupling can be removed and reused.
