LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Nutley Heating & Cooling Supply, an American Standard distributor, Wall Township, and ITAK Heating & Cooling, Brick Township, donated the time and material to remove the Long Branch, N.J., Ronald McDonald House’s outdated air conditioning system, and subsequently install a variable-speed, Comfort-R American Standard high-efficiency system.

“American Standard supplied the equipment, we supplied the labor, and we’d do it again,” said Frank Itak of Itak Heating & Cooling.

The new system, which included a 10 year parts and labor extended warranty, will cool the three floors of the Ronald McDonald House, which can serve up to eight families at once providing temporary living quarters and play areas. According to the company, the system qualified for a “Smart Start” energy rebate and will also net a savings on the utility bills.

The total donation of time, materials, and warranty tops several thousand dollars.

“It was a no-brainer,” said Paul Mitchell of Itak. “We’ve known people who’ve had to stay at Ronald McDonald House, and it’s a great organization.”
