CORTLAND, N.Y. - Intertek, a leader in product testing, inspection, and certification, has unveiled a new 1,000-square-foot (20-ton) psychrometric test facility at its 240,000-square-foot HVACR Center of Excellence testing center. According to the company, the new 20-ton expanded facility was designed to meet a need in the industry for faster turnaround times and reduced queue times for HVACR product performance and safety testing.

The psychrometric test facility can accommodate 3- to 20-ton air conditioning and heat pump units and is capable of measuring up to 9,000 cfm. It provides fully automated data acquisition, simultaneous data collection, and calculation.

“We are continually improving our services to meet the increasing demands from the industry,” said Don Nicholson, vice president of sales, North America. “The new addition to our HVACR Center of Excellence helps us to continue to offer our customers efficient product testing, ultimately saving them time and money.”

For over 50 years, Intertek has been a leader in HVACR product testing and certification, and is a preferred testing lab for the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), and Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA) testing programs.
