Sept. 18, 2007: Windswept Environmental Acquires N.C. Restoration Firm

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. - Windswept Environmental Group Inc. announced that it has acquired Environmental Restoration of North Carolina, through both the purchase of certain assets and assumption of certain liabilities. Environmental Restoration has locations in Greensboro and Wilmington, N.C. In addition to its Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction Divisions, the Indoor Pollution Control Division specializes in the cleaning and decontamination of HVAC systems and associated ductwork. Environmental Restoration's name will remain the same, and the firm will become a fully-owned subsidiary of Windswept.

Michael O’Reilly, chairman and CEO of Windswept, stated, “This acquisition works well with our current operations since it brings our company into the Mid-Atlantic region with a well-seasoned and experienced management team and workforce. We have previously worked with Environmental Restoration, where they were a subcontractor to our subsidiary Trade-Winds Environmental on restoration jobs in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana.”

Windswept Environmental Group is a full service environmental company that provides a wide range of emergency response and disaster recovery services. The company has expertise in areas of fire and flood clean-up, oil spill and natural resource response, wildlife rehabilitation, hazardous materials remediation, testing, toxicology, training, technical advisory, and site renovation.
