LYNCHBURG, Va. - N.B. Handy held its seventh annual Vendor Performance Recognition Event to honor “Preferred Vendors” for outstanding performance in the previous calendar year. The purpose of the evaluation was to compare the performance of suppliers to N.B. Handy’s business requirements and appropriately reward excellence.

Vendors were evaluated in the four general categories of delivery, service, pricing, and quality. The recipients were the top performers from N.B. Handy’s list of high volume vendors. The nine winners for 2006 were: Berger Brothers, Broan-NuTone, Carlisle Syn-Tec, Coleman Cable, Fabral, Ideal Tape Co., Johns Manville, Royal Metal Products, and The Techs.

Five special awards were also presented during the event. Fabral garnered Vendor of the Year; The Techs were named Most Improved Vendor and received the Innovation Award; the Sales Representation Award was won by Scott Witherow, Design Polymerics; and the Top Customer Service Representative Award went to Gretchen Rosenbalm, Fabral.

The winners were invited to Lynchburg for an afternoon of golf at Boonsboro Country Club, a dinner and awards presentation ceremony, and a breakfast business meeting the next day where N.B. Handy’s executive staff shared strategic objectives with the suppliers. During the meeting, the attendees were able to preview the company’s future growth strategy, sales and marketing programs, human resource development initiatives, and customer fulfillment and operational logistics enhancement projects.
