The Comfortmaker® brand SoftSound™ DLX 95 natural gas furnaces, available in 3-5 ton models, are designed for upflow or horizontal installations. The units have heating inputs ranging between 60 and 100 MBtuh. They achieve 95 percent AFUE in upflow installations and up to 95 percent AFUE in horizontal applications. They are dual certified for one- or two-pipe venting and feature a single-stage gas valve and a single-stage ignition control. The furnaces have thermal-lined, one-piece steel cabinets and an insulated blower compartment to reduce operating noise. New silicon nitride igniters last longer, can withstand high-line voltage, and don't require voltage regulators, said the company. Each furnace is equipped with a troubleshooting LED fault indicator that will diagnose practically all system-related malfunctions. LP gas conversion kits are available. The furnaces qualify for federal tax credits when installed in upflow positions; some horizontal installations may not qualify.
