The K-Flex Gray™ elastomeric insulation duct liner has been improved. It now has an R-value of 4.2, which meets the Energy Conservation Code requirements of states that require a 4.2 R-value in commercial building ductwork. The product is identifiable by its distinct gray color and has a nominal 1-inch thickness. Increased flexibility is an enhancement made to the liner, making it more user-friendly for sheet metal fabricators whether they are installing it on round or rectangular duct or on transitional sections manually. Fabricators now can install insulation on flat sheet metal and then bend the metal and insulation together as they form the bends necessary to form ductwork. A proprietary antimicrobial additive and moisture-resistant closed-cell structure offer mold and mildew resistance. The optional pressure-sensitive adhesive backing saves installers time and virtually eliminates the need for solvent-based contact adhesives. Available in various widths to accommodate different duct sizes and connections, the duct liner comes in 50- and 100-foot rolls.
