WESTPORT, Conn. - The International Exposition Co. (IEC), along with co-sponsors the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), presented the 5th Annual International Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) Innovation Award Scholarship to Vernon College in Wichita Falls, Texas. Scott McClure, HVAC Instructor at Vernon College, accepted the award.

“One of our main challenges for the last three years has been to get the scholarship fund to $10,000 so I could start granting awards to students,” said McClure after accepting the award. “It has been a struggle. So when I saw the check amount of $9,373 they presented to me at the AHR Expo, I was thrilled beyond belief.”

This year’s scholarship award of $9,373 is derived from Innovation Award entry fees and will be used to benefit local HVACR students at Vernon College. The award is presented annually to an educational institution in the geographical area where the AHR Expo is being held.
