ARLINGTON, Va. - Eric Kjelshus Energy of Greenwood, Mo., has been recognized by North American Technician Excellence (NATE) for having 100 percent of its HVAC technicians NATE-certified.

There are currently more than 22,000 NATE-certified technicians throughout North America, but only a handful of contractors have 100 percent of their technician workforce NATE-certified. Carl Smith, director of marketing and public relations for NATE, said 100 percent technician certification demonstrates a vigorous commitment to training and professional development.

“NATE certification is the industry standard for certification,” said Smith. “Manufacturers, contractors, wholesalers, the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA and its Energy Star Program, trade associations, trainers, and utilities nationwide support this standard of HVAC excellence.”

Eric Kjelshus Energy set 100 percent NATE certification as a team goal. “We believe it’s important for all of our service and installation technicians to be NATE-certified,” said Eric Kjelshus. “NATE certification lets customers know we’re sending out only the best to service their home’s comfort system. Our NATE-certified technicians have proven their knowledge of heating and cooling.”

NATE is the nation’s largest independent certification organization for HVACR technicians. The EPA Energy Star Program encourages consumers to seek NATE-certified technicians to professionally install and service heating and cooling systems. The U.S. Department of Energy endorses NATE for its dedication in raising quality standards for installation and maintenance of HVACR equipment and contributing to increased energy efficiency.
