The AccuClean air cleaner removes up to 99.98 percent of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns from its first use. It is designed to attract and charge airborne particles, which are collected on an oppositely charged surface. A field charger has a lattice of large holes through which all system air passes. An ion-emitting needle centered in each opening delivers an electric charge throughout the opening. The design helps minimize particle buildup. The company expects to launch a version that can be retrofitted onto other systems later this year.
A new brand of nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) filtration was introduced under the heading SAAF Technology. Designed to enhance existing particulate and gas-phase products, the new methodologies have scaled down fail-safe technologies the company has used for years in nuclear power plant equipment, as well as in Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, and for the U.S. Postal Service’s response to airborne threats. The company said it will take these next-generation technologies to market through AAF’s sales distribution network.
