ST. LOUIS - Robert Eichelberger has been promoted to manager-refrigeration solutions within the 24-hour service operation at Murphy Co. The St. Louis mechanical contractor operates a large service fleet in the region with 75 service trucks for refrigeration, building control, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Eichelberger, who joined Murphy Co. in 1989, is responsible for leading the firm’s refrigeration service programs and cultivating relationships with commercial and industrial refrigeration customers.

“We look forward to Bob’s group leadership and the positive impact each member of this group will have on our efforts to create and preserve long-term client relationships,” said Conrad H. Philipp III, vice president-service at Murphy Co.

Eichelberger is a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) and the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR).

Now celebrating its 100th anniversary, Murphy Co. had fiscal year 2006 revenues exceeding $170 million. The company performs work in 25 states. Murphy performs mechanical contracting services for industrial, commercial, municipal, and institutional clients. With offices in St. Louis and Denver, the firm employs about 600 people in St. Louis and more than 800 company-wide. Among its employees are union craft workers primarily from the AFL-CIO pipefitter, boilermaker, plumber, and sheet metal trade unions.
