May 25, 2007 marks the 25th National Missing Children’s Day. First proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan and observed by every administration since, May 25 is the anniversary of the day in 1979 when 6-year-old Etan Patz disappeared from a New York street corner on his way to school.

A Website has been developed to support National Missing Children’s Day and is a portal to a great deal of additional information. The address is www.missingkids.com.

Business owners and individuals are encouraged to promote the event by sponsoring fundraisers and passing information along to customers, employees, family, and friends. The Website has links to information on missing children, reporting a sighting, downloading a link to the Amber Alert system, and making a donation.
