BATAVIA, N.Y. - Mark Dumuhosky, 54, passed away on March 29 after a long battle with cancer. “He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a friend to many who had the good fortune to know him,” said Alan Mercurio, oil heat technical trainer and administrator of oiltechtalk.com. “Mark was my service manager for Griffith Energy in Pearl Creek, N.Y., and also worked for Ryan DeWitt Oil Co. in Batavia.

“He devoted almost his entire career to the oil industry,” Mercurio wrote. “I will always remember his attention to detail when doing a heat loss and design calculation, even for the most simple of installs, plus his ability to work with and teach the younger techs and work them through the early frustrations of troubleshooting. He was one of the best.”

Mr. Dumuhosky also was a drummer-vocalist for The Ohms Band. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the VFW, and the Caledonia Rifle and Pistol Club.

Mr. Dumuhosky is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; son, Matthew; daughter, Lisa; brother, David; sisters Mary Coyle, Linda Thompson, Jean Geffen, Christine Eldridge, and Michele Balonek; granddaughter, Kelli Dumuhosky; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Stanley Dumuhosky and sister Frances Richards. The family has suggested that donations be made to charities of the donor’s choice.
