HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - The Nova Scotia Natural Gas Association (NSNGA), a new organization affiliated with the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAI), was formally inaugurated at a meeting held late November 2006 in Halifax. Bylaws were approved and an executive was appointed. Don Webster, Direct Energy, will chair the organization. Also appointed to the board were Stewart Creaser, Halifax Heating and Air Conditioning; Norm Lawrence, Heritage Gas; David Corkum, Carmichael Engineering; and Marcel Deveau, Bruce Sutherland and Associates. The guest speaker at the inaugural meeting was Ray Ritcey, president of Heritage Gas.

Managed by the Pathfinder Group, HRAI’s Atlantic regional office, the organization will have a mandate to serve the needs of businesses involved in the province’s fledgling natural gas industry. The NSNGA has made it a condition of membership that companies must also be members of HRAI.
