ARLINGTON, VA – The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) has published ARI Standard 390-2001 “Single Package Vertical Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps,” a new equipment performance standard, and revised ARI Standard 340/360-2000 “Commercial and Industrial Unitary Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment.” Both standards are available at the ARI website: www.ari.org.

ARI standards establish rating criteria and procedures for measuring and certifying product performance. This way, products are rated on a uniform basis so that buyers and users can make selections for specific applications. By adding standards on the Internet, ARI manufacturers want to make it easier for architects, engineers, contractors, and equipment specifiers to make choices based on testing and rating information.
