NEW YORK, NY — According to a poll by theNew York Times/CBS News, 58% of Americans now believe that the Bush administration is hiding something about its dealings with bankrupt energy trading company Enron. This was compared to 44% in the previous poll.

Among those who identified themselves as Republicans, a majority say that the White House has not told all about its contacts with Enron.

In addition, when asked about the accounting procedures that brought about the failure of Enron, 70% of the respondents believe these practices are widespread among large corporations.
