ROCKVILLE, MD - The Indoor Environmental Standards Organization (IESO) has announced a new seminar, "Mold In Our Environment," scheduled for Jan. 8, 2005, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Santa Ana, Calif.

According to IESO, attendees will gain a wide breadth of knowledge about mold, health, sampling, and more. Topics covered will include: the science of mycology; fungal terminology; indoor molds and health, including case studies; mold exposure and disease development; allergic symptoms; asthma symptoms; sampling for fungi; source determination; pre- and post-remediation sampling; sampling procedures; the role of the laboratory; industry guidelines; litigation; the role of the insurance industry; and the market for mold testing services.

Featured speaker will be Dr. Payam Fallah, laboratory director and senior mycologist for Environmental Microbiology Laboratory. The seminar will also include a tool swap/sell event.
